摘要： 草地是人类文明的摇篮。农业与牧业均起源于草地,人类的文明活动、生产生活都离不开草地。草坪业是草业科学的重要分支,草坪的面积基本与人口数量、文明程度和社会发展水平同步增长;草坪业内涵丰富,是全民的巨大财富,应为全社会所共同享有、共同建设。

Abstract: Grassland is the cradle of human civilization.Agriculture and animal husbandry were originated from grassland because human civilization and production of life activities were associated with grassland closely.Lawn research is a main branch of grass science.Grassland area increased with the increase of the population of human being,the developing of civilization and the level of social development simultaneously.Compare to the social development demand,lawn industry has been beyond the research area of grass science further and it is the great wealth of all our nation which should be by the people and for the people.
