Morphological Response of Neyraudia reynaudiana Root to Different Phosphorus Stress

类芦根系对不同磷胁迫的形态学响应

Abstract:

In order to reveal the survival mechanism of Neyraudia reynaudiana under phosphorus stress, the morphological response and biomass of the root were measured in five different pot experiments under various phosphorus stresses. The results showed that the root number, total root length, root surface-area, root volume of Neyraudia reynaudiana in the different treatments of phosphorus stress were higher than that in the normal phosphorus condition; However, the mean diameters of root were smaller than that in the normal condition except for the extreme phosphorus stress. The shoot biomass and other attributions of root such as biomass, number, total length, surface area, volume and root/shoot ratio gradually increased along with the increase of phosphorus stress, in which, the root that the diameter was shorter than 0.5 mm showed the largest variation. In addition, the morphological indices of root gradually weakened from moderate phosphorus stress to extreme phosphorus stress, while the mean diameter of root demonstrated an opposite trend. It was concluded that Neyraudia reynaudiana formed a large root network system under phosphorus stress to promote the formation of adventitious roots. This may increase the number of lateral roots and fine roots, and enhance the absorption capacity of root for phosphorus.

摘要:

为探讨类芦(Neyraudia reynaudiana)在极耐瘠薄条件下生存的机制,通过设计5个不同磷胁迫盆栽模拟试验,测定磷胁迫条件下类芦根系生物量和根系形态特征.结果表明:随着低磷胁迫的加剧,类芦地上部生物量、根系生物量、根条数、根系总长度、根表面积、根系体积均呈增加趋势,其中根径 < 0.5 mm的细根长度、表面积增加明显,根冠比增大,在中度磷胁迫条件下达到最大;从中度磷胁迫至极度磷胁迫,随着磷胁迫程度加重,根系各形态指标逐渐减少.根平均直径则相反.可见类芦根系通过缩小根直径,促进不定根形成,增加细根数量、延长根系长度,形成庞大根系网络,增加根系-土壤接触面,扩大根系吸收磷范围,以此来提高根系的吸收能力.
