Selection of Silage Maize Varieties (or Strains) in the Agro Pastoral Ecotone of Northwest Hebei Province

Abstract: In order to select silage maize (Zea Mays L.) varieties (or strains) that are suitable for cultivation in the agricultural and pastoral ecotone of northwest Hebei province and resistant to infertility and droughtness. This experiment selected 12 early maturing varieties (strains) to compare and analyze their agronomic,yield,and quality traits such as plant height,ear height,and stem diameter. Among the selected varieties (or strains),the moisture content of '21RW118' 'Demeiya 3' '21RW66' 'Xuntian 816' 'D1-2' 'Demeiya 1' 'D1-1' and '20H-101' was between 65% and 75%,which met the harvesting standards for silage corn for it. The growth period of '20H-101' 'D1-2' and 'Demeiya 1' was 103 days,reaching the milk ripening stage at harvest;and the fresh forage yield at harvest were 53.91 t·hm-2,44.22 t·hm-2,56.63 t·hm-2,along with the dry hay yield of 16.20 t·hm-2,15.09 t·hm-2,and 11.88 t·hm-2,respectively. The weight of milk produced from each ton of dry matter of '20H-101' 'D1-2' and 'Demeiya 1' was 1 748.0 t·hm-2,1 803.5 t·hm-2,and 1 800.0 t·hm-2,respectively. The relative feed values were 155.51,176.34,and 172.39, respectively. The quality of 'D1-2' and 'Demeiya 1' met the criteria of the National Standard of the People' s Republic of China - the Quality Grading Standard for Silage Corn,and was a variety (strain) of the first-class quality;the '20H-101' was a strain of the second-grade quality,suitable for promotion and planting in the agricultural and pastoral areas of northwest Hebei.

摘要: 为筛选适合冀西北农牧交错区种植的耐瘠薄、耐干旱的青贮玉米(Zea Mays L.)品种(品系)。本试验选取12个早熟的青贮玉米品种(品系),对其株高、穗位高及茎粗等农艺性状,产量性状和品质性状进行比较研究。其中‘21RW118’‘德美亚3号’‘21RW66’ ‘巡天816’‘D1-2’‘德美亚1号’‘D1-1’‘20H-101’含水量在65%~75%之间,符合青贮玉米收获标准;‘20H-101’‘D1-2’‘德美亚1号’的生育期为103 d,且在收获时达乳熟期,鲜草产量分别为53.91 t·hm-2,44.22 t·hm-2,56.63 t·hm-2,干草产量分别为16.20 t·hm-2,15.09 t·hm-2,11.88 t·hm-2;‘20H-101’‘D1-2’‘德美亚1号’的每吨干物质可产生牛奶的重量分别为1 748.0 t·hm-2,1 803.5 t·hm-2,1 800.0 t·hm-2,相对饲喂价值分别为155.51,176.34,172.39。‘D1-2’‘德美亚1号’的品质符合中华人民共和国国家标准——青贮玉米品质分级标准,为一级品质品种(品系),‘20H-101’为二级品质品系,适合在冀西北农牧交错地区推广种植。
