Meta-Analysis of Nitrogen Fertilizer Application Effects on Forage Growth and Soil Nutrients in China

氮肥施用对我国草地牧草生长和土壤养分影响的Meta分析

Abstract: To investigate the responses of forage growth and grassland soil nutrients to nitrogen fertilizer application, and to promote forage yield enhancement and soil nutrient balance, this study conducted a meta-analysis of 62 selected publications comprising 629 valid data sets. The analysis examined the effects of nitrogen fertilizer application on forage growth and soil nutrients under varying meteorological conditions (climatic zones, mean annual rainfall and mean annual temperature), soil conditions (alkali-hydrolyzable nitrogen (AN), total nitrogen (TN), and organic matter (OM)), as well as the amount of nitrogen fertilizer applied (low, medium, and high). The results indicated that nitrogen fertilizer application significantly enhanced forage growth and improved soil nutrient status. Specifically, forage height and dry matter yield increased by 25.7% and 58.4%, respectively, while soil TN, AN, and OM contents increased by 21.8%, 19.3%, and 9.0%, respectively. Nitrogen fertilizer application in wet, low-temperature regions most effectively promoted forage growth, whereas nitrogen fertilizer application in wet, high-temperature regions was more conducive to enhancing soil nutrient availability. Nitrogen fertilizer application to nutrient-poor grasslands resulted in a more pronounced increase in forage dry matter yield, and even low rates of N addition produced substantial benefits. Our results demonstrate that nitrogen fertilizer addition exerts positive effects on both forage productivity and soil fertility, providing a scientific basis for grassland fertilization decision-making.

摘要: 为探究牧草生长和草地土壤养分对氮肥施用的响应,并促进牧草产量提升与土壤养分平衡,本研究基于筛选出的62篇文献(629组有效数据),采用Meta方法分析了不同气象条件(气候区、年平均降水量和年平均气温)、土壤条件(碱解氮、全氮和有机质含量)以及氮肥施用量(低量、中量和高量)条件下氮肥施用对牧草生长及土壤养分的影响。研究结果表明:氮肥添加促进了牧草生长,增加了土壤养分含量,其中牧草株高和干物质量分别增加25.7%和58.4%,全氮、碱解氮和有机质含量分别增加21.8%,19.3%和9.0%。在湿润且低温地区施氮肥对牧草的促进效果最佳;在湿润且高温地区施氮肥更有利于增加土壤养分含量。贫瘠草地施氮肥对牧草干物质量的促进效果更明显,且少量氮素添加就有很好的效果。本研究的结果反映出氮肥添加对牧草和土壤产生了积极效果,并且可以为草地施肥决策提供依据。
