Study on Root Space Distribution in Soil and Nutrient Uptake in Elephant Grass and Imperial Grass

象草和壮丽草根系空间分布及养分吸收研究

Abstract: Elephant grass and Imperial grass were selected to study the properties of root space distribution and nutrient uptake. The results indicated that there were 85% roots to distribute in the layer of 0~40 cm in soil for the two grasses. The root biomass of elephant grass was two-fold greater than that of the imperial grass. The leaf/stem ratio of elephant grass and imperial grass were 2.76 and 1.24,respectively. The mineral nutrient in shoot of elephant grass was higher than that of the imperial grass.

摘要: 研究两种禾本科牧草根系空间变异及养分吸收特性。结果表明:象草和壮丽草的根系有85%以上分布在0~40cm的土层中。象草根系生物量比壮丽草高2倍。象草和壮丽草根重与茎叶重的比值分别为2.76和1.24。象草茎叶中矿物质养分的含量高于壮丽草。
