Abstract: Rhizomucor variabilis var. regularior Zheng & G.-q. Chen, a new variety of Rhizomucor variabilis Zheng & G.-q. Chen reported in 1991, is described and also found to be non-thermophilic, as well as a causative agent of a human primary cutaneous infection of a patient without an underlying disease. Common and distinguishing characteristics between var. regularior and var. variablis are detailed. A key to all the accepted taxa in Rhizomucor is provided.
