Abstract: Euphorbia jolkinii Boiss. is a degradation indicator species of subalpine meadow, studying the effects of its invasion and expansion on soil nutrient transformation is of great significance for revealing its invasion mechanism. To investigate the effects of phenolic acids and alkaloids secreted by Euphorbia jolkinii Boiss. on soil nitrogen transformation in subalpine meadow, the indoor cultivation experiment was performed to analyze the effects of adding 0 (CK), 10 (N10), and 50 mg·L-1 (N50) 4-nitrophenol solutions, as well as 0 (CK), 100 (P100), and 800 μl·L-1 (P800) 2-phenylethylamine solutions on soil nitrogen content and nitrogen conversion enzyme activity in this study. The results showed that compared to CK, N10, N50, P100, and P800 treatments significantly increased the soil NO3--N and MBN contents, while decreased the soil NH4+-N content (P<0.05). P100 and P800 treatments significantly increased the activities of nitrate reductase and nitrite reductase, but decreased the activities of urease and acid protease (P<0.05). N10 and N50 treatments significantly increased the activities of soil urease, acid protease, nitrate reductase, and nitrite reductase (P<0.05). In summary, compounds such as 2-phenylethylamine secreted by Euphorbia jolkinii Boiss. facilitate the conversion of soil NH4+-N to NO3--N, although the extent of this increase is contingent upon the type and concentration of the substance.
