The Effects of Different Soil Amendments on the Germination and Seedling Growth of Creeping Bentgrass

不同土壤改良剂对匍匐翦股颖种子萌发与幼苗生长的影响

Abstract:

Unites States Golf Association (USGA) recommended sand as the rootzone material for the construction of putting greens. Sand has very poor capacity in moisture and nutrients retention, which results in a frequent irrigation and fertilizing during the maintenance to meet the requirements of turfgrass growth. In this study, the physical and chemical properties of sand rootzone added different soil amendments (10%, V/V) were analyzed and their effects on the seed germination and seedling growth of creeping bentgrass (Agrostis stolonifera) were tested. Results showed that all tested amendments improved the retentions of moisture, K+and NO3-. Peat moss treatment significantly decreased the saturated hydraulic conductivity of sand rootzone. All tested soil amendments improved the seed germination and seedling growth of creeping bentgrass with the performance in leaf emergence, tillers per plant, growth rate, biomass and coverage. The improvement was ordered as PROFILE > PEAT MOSS > AXIS > CLITE. The effects of organic amendment (PEAT MOSS) on root biomass and length were significantly lower than that of inorganic amendments (PROFILE, AXIS and CLITE).

摘要:

美国高尔夫协会(USGA)果岭建造推荐标准的根际层主要是以砂为基质,其对水分与营养的吸附能力较差,需要频繁的灌溉与施肥才能满足草坪正常生长的需求。为测试4种土壤改良物质(10%,V/V)对砂质根际层理化性状的改良效果,研究其对匍匐翦股颖(Agrostis stolonifera)种子发芽与幼苗生长的影响。结果表明:添加PROFILE,AXIS,CLITE和草炭均增加了基质的持水率和对K+,NO3-的吸附力,但添加草炭会降低基质的渗透率。所有的土壤改良物质都显著促进了匍匐翦股颖种子的萌发和幼苗的生长,不同土壤改良物质对幼苗出叶速度、单株分蘖数、生长速度、生物量和草坪盖度等的促进效应表现基本一致,其促进效应从高到低的顺序为PROFILE>草炭>AXIS>CLITE。有机改良物质草炭对根系生物量和根长的促进效应显著低于无机改良物质PROFILE,AXIS和CLITE。
