Effect of Water Extractions from the Leaves and Rhizomes of Kentucky Bluegrass on Seed Germination of Three Herbaceous Ornamentals

草地早熟禾叶和根茎浸提液对3种花卉植物种子萌发的影响

Abstract: In order to explore the synergistic growth of Kentucky bluegrass and herbaceous ornamentals in the garden plants configuration,the water extractions from leaves and rhizomes of Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis) was used to examine the allelopathic effects on seed germination of Orychophragmus violaceusZinnia elegansTagetes patula using petridishs with filter papers. Results showed that the water extractions of the leaves and rhizomes of Kentucky bluegrass inhibited seed germination of Orychophragmus violaceus,Zinnia elegans,and Tagetes patula by 33% and 48%,27% and 39%,and 24% and 48%,respectively. And the rhizome extraction appeared to be more effective than leaf extraction in terms of inhibiting the seed germination,and the growth of radicle and coleoptile. Three ornamentals also showed different sensitivity to the extractions of Kentucky bluegrass,and Orychophragmus was the most sensitive to the extractions. This study showed that Orychophragmus should not be planted with Kentucky bluegrass to avoid alleloathic effect on growth by Kentucky bluegrass.

摘要: 为了探讨草坪绿地植物配置过程中草地早熟禾与花卉植物协同生长的问题,本实验采用室内培养皿法,研究草地早熟禾叶和根茎浸提液对二月兰(Orychophragmus violaceus)、百日草(Zinnia elegans)、孔雀草(Tagetes patula)3种花卉植物种子萌发的化感作用,为草坪绿地植物的配置提供新思路和理论依据。结果表明,草地早熟禾叶和根茎浸提液对二月兰、百日草、孔雀草种子的发芽抑制率分别为33%和48%,27%和39%,24%和48%,总体趋势表现出根茎浸提液的抑制作用强于叶浸提液,3种供试植物对草地早熟禾根茎和叶浸提液的敏感性响应亦不相同,其中二月兰对浸提液的响应最为敏感。本研究表明,在进行园林草坪绿地植物配置中,二月兰应尽量避免与草地早熟禾组合,以免因化感作用使其生长受到抑制。
