Effects of Cadmium on Seed Germination and Seedling Growth of Different Varieties of White Clover (Trifolium repens L.)

镉对不同品种白三叶(Trifolium repens L.)种子萌发及幼苗生长的影响

Abstract: White clover (Trifolium repens L.) is an important perennial high quality legume forage with high biomass and heavy metal tolerance. The effects of Cd concentration (0,20,50,100 μmol·L-1) on seed germination and seedling growth of 10 white clover cultivars were studied with petri-dish method. The results showed that the germination potential,germination index and vigor index of 10 white clover cultivars decreased significantly with the increase of Cd concentration,while the germination rate did not change significantly. The bud length was significantly inhibited under 20 μmol·L-1 Cd treatment of all white clover cultivars but the root length was significantly inhibited under 100 μmol·L-1 Cd treatment. Combining with the analysis of physiological indexes relevant to antioxidant system (MDA,SOD,POD,etc.),the Cd tolerance ability analysis of the ten white clover varieties based on the Subordinate function value method showed that Siral could be recommended as a potential candidate variety for the remediation of cadmium contaminated soil.

摘要: 白三叶(Trifolium repens L.)是一种重要的多年生优质豆科牧草本,具有生物量大和耐受重金属的特点。本研究通过培养皿滤纸法,研究了不同Cd浓度(0,20,50,100 μmol·L-1)对10个白三叶品种种子萌发和幼苗生长的影响,结果表明,白三叶种子的发芽势、发芽指数和活力指数随着Cd处理浓度的增加而显著降低,发芽率没有显著变化。20 μmol·L-1的Cd处理显著抑制了所有参试品种的芽长,100 μmol·L-1的Cd处理显著抑制了根长。利用隶属函数法对10个品种白三叶的Cd耐受性进行了综合评价,结合抗氧化系统相关生理指标(MDA,SOD,POD等)分析表明,'Siral’以其较高的Cd耐受性,可推荐为重金属镉污染土壤种植的理想品种。
