The Effects of Night Penning on Soil and Plants in the Process of Natural Vegetation Removal by Sheep Corral Bedding in Western Area of Guizhou Province

绵羊宿营法清除天然植被对土壤和植物的影响

Abstract: A study on the effects of sheep trampling and excreta on soil and vegetation during sheep night penning at 8 sheep units nights/m2 was carried out at Weining Rangeland Experimental Station Guizhou from July to October 1998 with 4 treatments (UDT (urine+dung+trampling), T(sheep trampling),U(sheep urine),and D(sheep dung)) and an untreated plot as check (CK).Salix inamoena var.tetradenia was the dominant species in the natural vegetation. Sheep grazing and trampling removed almost all of the above ground natural vegetation,but did not significantly affect bulk density,penetration resistance,and air permeability. The peak concentrations of ammoniumN (maximum 377 mg·kg1) and nitriteN(maximum 56.1 mg·kg1) in soil for UDT were potentially toxic to plants. The concentration of ammoniumN and nitriteN for U were 139 mg·kg1 and 28.1 mg·kg1 , respectively,and were significantly (P<0.05) higher than those of D and the control. Crude protein (N×6.25) in the leaves of Salix inamoena var.tetradenia in treatments UDT and U were significant than treatment D and the control (P<0.01). The number of germinating branches of Salix inamoena var.tetradenia was fewer in UDT than in T after sheep night penning, but those of two other shrubs (Elaeagnus uitidis var.delaragi and Hypericum detulum) did not differ between treatments.Herbage accumulation of the established pasture was much higher for UDT than for T.

摘要: 研究绵羊宿营法通过践踏和粪尿对土壤和对天然植被和人工草地的影响。结果表明,绵羊啃食和践踏对植被地上部分损坏严重,8羊夜后草本植物被全部清除,但对土壤容重、紧实度和通气性无显著影响。新鲜粪尿入土后,氨态氮和亚硝态氮浓度迅速上升(最高值分别达377mg·kg-1和56.1mg·kg-1),对植物产生毒害作用。单纯尿处理土壤氨态氮和亚硝态氮浓度分别达139mg·kg-1和28.1mg·kg-1,显著高于单一粪处理和对照。无毛丑柳叶片粗蛋白质含量显著高于对照(P<0.01)。调查结果表明,羊奶果和黄花香发芽枝条数在试验前后变化不大,但宿营后的无毛丑柳枝条数显著少于处理前。宿营处理的产草量明显高于践踏处理。
