Evaluation the Potential of Sweet Sorghum Grown for Silage Crop

甜高粱用作青贮作物的潜力评价

Abstract: In order to explore the possibility of sweet sorghum(Sorghum bicolor(L.) Moench) for ensiling and to enrich the silage source in eastern China,dry matter yield,nutritive composition and silage quality of Sweet sorghum(cv.Hunnigreen) were evaluated in a field under 350 kg·hm-2 nitrogen fertilizer levels using corns Yudan 8 and Denghai 9 as controls.Sweet sorghum was sowed in late May and cut in early September.Results showed that above ground dry matter yield(44.0 t·hm-2) of sweet sorghum was significantly greater than that of tested corns(P<0.05).Crude protein contents of the sweet sorghum(5.11%) were similar to that of tested corns.The yield of digestible crude protein and digestible dry matter of sweet sorghum reached 2.25 and 20.8 t·hm-2,which were 1.4 and 1.6 times of tested corns,respectively.Neutral detergent fiber(NDF) contents of all tested varieties show no significant differences.Acid detergent fiber(ADF) of sweet sorghum was significantly higher than that of tested corns(P<0.05).However,ADF content of sweet sorghum silage decreased by 3.2% after ensiling.There was no significant difference between sweet sorghum and corn silages for ensiling quality and silage fermentation quality.Therefore,sweet sorghum could be considered as an alternative forage crop for ensiling in eastern China.

摘要: 为探索华东地区甜高粱(Sorghum bicolor(L.)Moench)用作青贮饲料的可能性,丰富该地区饲料作物来源,在相同的大田试验条件和350kg·hm-2施肥(尿素)水平下,以渝单8号和登海9号玉米(Zea mays L.)为参照,研究了大力士甜高粱(Hunnigreen)的干物质产量、饲草品质和青贮饲料品质。大力士甜高粱5月下旬播种,9月初刈割。结果表明:地上部干物质产量达44.0t·hm-2,显著高于玉米(P<0.05)。大力士干物质中粗蛋白质含量为5.11%,和渝单8号相近;粗蛋白质和可消化干物质产量分别达到2.25和20.8t·hm-2,是玉米的1.4倍和1.6倍。大力士的中性洗涤纤维(NDF)含量与2个玉米品种无显著差异,酸性洗涤纤维(ADF)含量显著高于玉米(P<0.05),但青贮后,大力士ADF含量下降了3.2%。大力士甜高粱青贮发酵品质及青贮饲料品质和玉米相当,因此在华东地区用作青贮作物栽培有较大的利用潜力。
