Rust fungi on desert plants in Xinjiang, China I. Species of Uromyces on Leguminosae and Chenopodiaceae

Abstract

This paper reports 20 species of Uromyces on desert plants of Leguminosae and Chenopodiaceae collected from Tarim Basin and Junggar Basin of Xinjiang, China. Among them, Uromyces alhaginis on Alhagi sparsifolia, Uromyces kochiae on Kochia prostrata and Uromyces sphaerophysae on Swainsonia salsula are new to China. Uromyces anagyridis on Ammopiptanthus nanus and Uromyces vignae on Vigna sesquipedalis are new to Xinjiang. Halostachys caspica and Nanophyton erinaceum are new hosts of Uromyces chenopodii. All the specimens are deposited in the Mycological Herbarium of Xinjiang Agriculture University (MHAAC).
