Abstract: Grasslands are the important ecosystems and natural resources,which play a fundamental and strategic role in China's ecological security. The thriving prosperity of grasslands shall lead to the prosperity of forests and grasslands,the thriving prosperity of forests and grasslands shall lead to the prosperity of ecological environments,and the prosperity of ecological environments shall lead to the prosperity of civilization. In 2020,China brought up the goal of achieving carbon emission to peak by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060. The "Carbon peaking and carbon neutrality" goal has already put forward the higher requirements to grassland ecological protection and restoration,also created a historic opportunity for comprehensively strengthening grassland managements. In order to fully serve to the overall situations of China's response to climate change,in this paper the opportunities about and problems at grassland sink enhancement were analyzed,and it was proposed some approaches about the grassland sink enhancement,such as bringing artificial plantation of grasses up,strengthening of the grassland protection,restoration and management,continuing the improvements of grassland ecological quality,developing the high-quality modern grassland industry,strengthening of the supports and supply guarantees,and boosting of the social publicity about and training for the grassland sciences. The overall aim in the paper was set to provide a reference for grassland to support the "Carbon peaking and carbon neutrality" goal being in reality.
