Abstract: Based on the main problems in China's forage industry, this paper expounds the characteristics and importance of China's grassland resources to the environment, economy, and society, as well as the opportunities and challenges confronted. The importance and urgency of speeding up the forage industry to the national sustainable development, and the methods and principles of strategic research are also accentuated.
