Preliminary Study on Drought Tolerance of Alfalfa Seedlings Induced by Piriformospora indica Fungi

印度梨形孢诱导紫花苜蓿提高抗旱性研究初报

Abstract: The colonization of Piriformospora indica fungi in the roots of alfalfa seedlings was examined and the effects of the colonization on the growth and development of alfalfa seedling were investigated under drought stress by pot experiment. Results showed that Piriformospora indica could colonize the epidermal and root hair cells of alfalfa roots. The colonization of Piriformospora indica promoted root growth, aboveground dry matter accumulation and increased lateral root growth, chlorophyll content significantly under drought stress. These results indicated that Piriformospora indica infection could improve the drought resistance of alfalfa seedling and ensure the normal growth of alfalfa seedling.

摘要: 盆栽条件下研究了印度梨形孢(Piriformospora indica)在紫花苜蓿(Medicago sativa)幼苗上的定殖以及在干旱胁迫下对紫花苜蓿幼苗生长发育的影响。结果表明:印度梨形孢均能在紫花苜蓿根系中定殖。在干旱胁迫条件下,印度梨形孢真菌能够显著促进紫花苜蓿幼苗根系生长、侧根形成和地上部干物质积累(P<0.05),并增加了叶片叶绿素的含量。说明印度梨形孢真菌能够提高紫花苜蓿幼苗的抗旱能力,保证其在干旱胁迫条件下可以正常生长。
