Abstract: The genetic parameters were examined in the new salt-tolerant cultivar ZhongmuNo.1.The North Carolina mode Ⅱ Crossing Design and Analysis were followed in use.Our results showedthat the salt stress, dry weight, plant height and branch stem number had relatively high additive effectsthan the dominant effect singly Narrow-sense heritabilities were estimated at 0.425,0.387& 0.484 re-spectively.The relatively high additive genetic component estimated in the study suggested that the alfalfabreeding genotypes were possessing mere tolerances than the existed new salt tolerant strain that it shouldbe possibly used through the crossing selected salt-tolerant individuals. The GCA of 102 individuals were studies through their half-sib progeny salt tolerance test.A com-prehensive appraisal of the salt tolerant GCA in 102 individuals was estimated by cluster analysis. The re-sults indicated that 47 individuals had high GCA, 33 individuals with medium GCA & 22 individuals withrelatively low GCA respectively. All seeds were obtained through crossing each other individuals with bothhigh and medium GCA.
