Abstract: The effects of applying boron(B), molybdenum(Mo) and zinc(Zn) mixed with nitrogen, phosphorus (P), and potassium (K)fertilizers on the yield and quality of alfalfa were gauged. The dry matter(DM) yield of alfalfa that had applied N, P and K fertilizers was higher than control, and the alfalfa's leaf stem ratio (L/S) was reduced, while its crude protein (CP) content did not change. The DM yield of alfalfa increased further with apt combination of B, Mo and Zn to the N, P, K fertilizers of appropriate proportions. Applying B (2.0 kg/h2)solely, or Zn(1.5 kg/h2) solely with N, P, K fertilizers to the alfalfa crop raised the DM yield notably (P<0.05); the increase was 29.0%, or 25.9%, respectively, than control. The rations of B, Mo and Zn applied influenced the crude protein content of hay of different cuttings. When only Zn was added to the N, P, K fertilizers, the crude protein content of hay tended to reduce, while only Mo was added, the hay's crude protein content tended to increase.
